Meet Our Deep: Richard Waller, DeepSeas Cybersecurity Account Executive

Today, as part of a DeepSeas series called “Meet our Deeps,” we introduce you to Richard Waller, a DeepSeas Cybersecurity Account Executive responsible for the Midwest. Let’s dive in to learn more about Richard’s work and career.
Q: Hi Richard. What is your current role at DeepSeas and what do you love most about your work with cybersecurity experts?
A: As the DeepSeas cybersecurity Account Executive representing the Midwest region of the U.S., my biggest challenge is that there’s not a simple process to guarantee success. This isn’t a job you can do blindly because you’ve done it so long that you’ve perfected it… you have to continuously stay on your toes (just like boxing, which is one of my passions and favorite hobbies). I love waking up and knowing that I have my work ahead of me.
Q: Will you please share a little bit with us about your career journey and how it led you to being a DeepSeas cybersecurity account executive? Any major milestones you are proud of or particular hurdles you overcame?
A: I graduated college in data science with my dream job being in IT Sales. I joined Geico to explore a role in sales and then moved to SecureWorks as an inside seller with the end goal of making it to the field. The day I joined DeepSeas was the day I accomplished my biggest career goal to date: Become an Account Executive serving alongside cybersecurity experts. Now that I’m here, I have a whole new set of financial/performance based goals. I’m very happy with where my life is at and where it is going. I am happy to be a part of DeepSeas’ history-in-the-making, while I continue to make strides at my new goals around acquiring significant market share in the Midwest.
